Bill Kluck was president of the South Dakota Stockgrowers Association from 2015 to 2017; he has been involved with the Stockgrowers since 2001. He previously served as president of the Meade County Farm Bureau from 1997 to 2002, and he was president of the board of the directors for the Montana Wool Growers Association, where he testified for anti-trap and anti-coyote bills from 1978 to 1983.
Kluck is a cattle and sheep rancher in South Dakota. He ranched in Montana from 1976 to 1986 until he moved to South Dakota and started Sulphur Creek Ranch, where he has remained ever since. His family has been in the ranching business since 1913. Kluck bought his first sheep in 1969. He proposed including sheep producers as voting R-CALF USA members because the sheep industry is already controlled with imports. About 60% of lamb is imported, and the cattle industry is heading in the same direction as the sheep industry.
