Subject:        Five Days Remaining – We Need Your Help!

We have 5 days remaining to get every U.S. Senator and U.S. Representative we can to sign onto the bipartisan letter written by Senators Mike Rounds (R-SD) and Tina Smith (D-MN) and addressed to the U.S. Attorney General.  We call this the Rounds/Smith food crisis letter.

If you have not already made your calls to your two Senators and your Representative, please make your calls today.  You can reach them by calling the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121 and asking for them by name.

Here’s a suggested request:

  1. First, ask them if they have a copy of the Rounds/Smith joint letter addressed to the U.S. Attorney General. If they don’t, ask for their email and send them the letter, which is available here.
  2. Then, tell them, “Please join the Rounds/Smith letter that calls for an end to the food crisis that is harming consumers and cattle producers.”

You can go to www.r-calfusa.com to find helpful information, including updates on who has signed and state specific graphics to share on your social media.

If you have made your calls, then today is Follow-up Monday. It may take two to three follow-ups before your Senators and Representative commit to sign.

Here’s a suggested follow-up message:

“Do you need any more information?  Please let me know if Senator [Name] or Representative [Name] will sign on to the Rounds/Smith letter.

I’m counting on your support for this important issue, in fact, so is all of America.

Thank you.”

Please consider joining us on our nightly conference calls at 7:00 p.m. Mountain Time.  The call-in information is:

Number:              515-604-9911

Code:                    211 124#

Thank you for your help!
