Alabama, Florida and Georgia
Mario Tarango was born in Denver, Colorado, and moved to central Florida with his family when he was 12 years old. He and his wife, Desiree, purchased land and started their cow/calf operation in 1999, where they currently reside with their five children. In addition to their cow/calf operation, Mario dayworks for nearby ranches. Mario also raises and trains horses for private use as well as the public and is a retired farrier.
Mario’s ranching heritage has its roots in northern Mexico and the state of New Mexico starting in the early 1600s. The knowledge of this history has caused Mario to have a passion for the ranching way of life and its people. Growing up hearing of the struggles and successes of his family has given him the drive to be successful in the cattle business.
A strong belief in God and the responsibility given by Him to be stewards of the land has also had a great impact on the way Mario tries to live his life. Mario is an active member in his church, a board member of the Polk County Youth Fair, and is on the board of directors of A Heart for Heroes.
