As second-generation immigrants, Peter and Eva Weinreis settled on a homestead in southwest North Dakota in the early 1900s. Their son, Lloyd, continued farming and ranching in the area. He and his wife, Violet, raised 12 children – seven of whom are sons. In the mid-70s, all seven sons formed the Weinreis Brothers partnership and continue in their life’s work of farming and ranching which now includes many of their own children. Weinreis Brothers branched out into cattle feeding in Nebraska and Colorado starting in the 1980s and continue that today. They ranch and farm in North Dakota and ranch in South Dakota. Now 14 of the fourth generation are involved with the family business.

WHAT IS AG-WEST-FEEDS INC?
In 1970, Vince Hulinsky started Ag-West Feeds. Vince grew up in a ranching area where he developed a good ranching background. After losing 30% of his calves to scours one spring, he decided to find out why. Vince started his herd out of his Dad’s. His Dad didn’t have a scour problem. The only difference in their cows and feeding program was Vince’s Dad was feeding a high-quality mineral program. Vince started to study nutrition, and went to doing his own nutritional work, using his own formulations. He did and still does this, using the cows to tell him their needs, not some book value or N.R.C. requirements “that should” work.
Vince used these values, not being tied to the Multi-National companies and their ways. Working with you ranchers and your cows, he was able to develop top quality mineral programs to fit the cow’s nutritional needs. Solving sickness problems, not using drugs, but developing the cows own nutritionally healthy immune system. At the same time increasing gains, savings of 20 percent of the roughage, and or 20 percent more beef produced off of the same ranch.
As a result of these efforts, Ag-West-Feeds was born and REMAINS an independent company owned and operated by Vince Hulinsky. Vince asks you to please stop at our booth at the R-CALF USA Convention. We are the Harris family. We are 4th & 5th generation Nebraskans that desire to go back to both our family’s heritage of farming and ranching for a healthier and simpler life, even if it’s on a very small scale. We live on a 15 acre farm just outside of McCook, NE. We purchased the property in 2013 when it was nothing but an undeveloped piece of grass pasture. Since then we have developed it into a beautiful homestead, a regenerative farm where we grow much of our own food, and a home for a few donkeys, a few horses, a flock of chickens, and a few livestock animals now and then.
In addition to making natural soap & skincare products with ranch sourced animal fats, we also grow hemp, potatoes, corn, dry beans, sweet corn, green beans, tomatoes, popcorn, and more.
We started Wild Ass Soap Co in 2020 during the height of an American awakening that our health system, our food system, and our government were no longer working for for everyday Americans. We decided to create healthy skincare products for our family that are fun and represent our rural values.
What started out as a hobby has turned into a full-blown small business. We are passionate about advocating for animal agriculture by producing a healthy product line that employs healthy animal fat by products from regional food systems. The bulk of our ingredients are purchased from small/regional operations, family farms and ranches. We truly believe in supporting and partnering with other small businesses all across the USA.
