Bryan Hanson – Region III Director
Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota
Bryan Hanson of Fort Pierre, S.D. is the current president of the board of directors. He represents the third-generation of family ownership of the Fort Pierre Livestock Auction. He has been a part of, and involved in the family business since his childhood. Bryan and his wife, DeLynn have a son and a daughter, Chase and Timber. Bryan was elected vice president by the board of directors in 2013 and he was then elected to serve as president in January 2014.
Bryan has a very broad knowledge of the industry. He was tutored by his dad and his granddad, Dennis Hanson and Leif Hanson, along with Willie Cowan and Johnny Smith, two of the strongest, earliest advocates for fair trade and country-of-origin labeling since the 90’s.
Bryan’s proven time and time again, even at his young age, that he’s ready to stand up and fight to preserve the independence and legacy of American ranchers.
“R-CALF USA was the only national organization that represented only the cattle producer, and not a cross section of the cattle industry. I believe that all producers should have a voice when it comes to their livelihood. R-CALF USA not only gives them a voice, but keeps them informed of the many issues facing our industry. Without an independent organization like R-CALF USA, I believe our cattle industry would be subject to the same unfair pricing and uncompetitive contracts that you see now in the pork and poultry industry,” said Hanson.
