Dr. Jerry Long,
Region XI Director
I have lived, ranch and provided veterinary care for 34 years in Live Oak, California. We are right next to the Sutter Buttes; 54,000 acres considered the USA’s smallest mountain range! I obtained a BS degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obisbo in the ‘60s and my masters and DVM in the late ‘70s at Washington State University. My three children are grown and we have six grandkids. My son Craig and his wife Tracy are also both veterinarians. Tee and I raise purebred Simmental, Sim Angus, and Angus cattle on owned and leased property. We sell 10 to 30 bulls per year at California sales. We also have Quarter and Paint Horses, selling a few annually. Over the years, I have served as the director and/or officer of several organizations, as well as the Valley Veterinary Association and the California Simmental Association. I currently have membership in: American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners, California Veterinary Medical Association, California Simmental Association, North Valley Veterinary Medical Association, and R-CALF USA. |
